Business Valuations & Litigation Support
Business Valuations
Our Business Valuations group works with individuals and closely held businesses with regard to estate and succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, valuation of intangible assets and litigation support. We offer a practical solution to the question "How much is my business worth?"
While valuators and valuation reports may differ significantly in their approach and answer to the above question, our valuators are skilled and experienced in the complex process and ongoing evolution of valuation theory.
Our Business Valuations Group is made up of members who are credentialed by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). To receive the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) credential a member must be a CPA, take selective training courses, pass a written exam, submit and achieve an acceptable score on a case study, and comply with ongoing continuing education requirements. The professional standards of valuation set by the NACVA are strictly followed. These members have typically been with the firm for many years and as such are also seasoned in a wide variety of business situations.
Litigation Support
From investigating the complex circumstances surrounding a banking collapse, alleged fraud or more routine business valuation and due diligence work, Clark Schaefer Hackett has earned the reputation as one of the top litigation support teams among attorneys and prosecutors.
We have experienced Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) that have handled some of the largest fraud cases in Hamilton County. Our litigation support services include providing expert witness testimony by our CFEs, Certified Valuation Analysts and highly experienced CPAs. Our professionals have testified in numerous cases involving valuations, criminal fraud prosecution, damage claim substantiation, embezzlement prosecution, insurance claims, lost-profit analysis and child support calculations.
Our firm also knows that the best way for a business to avoid the need for some of these services is to have a strong system of internal control. Our CPAs and Certified Internal Auditors can utilize a variety of tools to help strengthen your internal controls and protect your company. Once you have a system of internal controls in place, we can help you make sure it is followed and successful.
We offer the following Litigation Support services:
- Business Valuations
- Internal Control
- Fraud Examinations
- Forensic Accounting
- Expert Testimony
- Bankruptcy
- Contract Disputes
- Damage Computations
- Tax Consequences
