Dave Rider
Senior Manager, East Lansing
Professional Summary
Dave provides audit and review services to a variety of clients, including not-for-profits, employee benefit plans, mortgage lenders, affordable housing, and private companies. Dave has sat on both sides of the table transitioning between public accounting and the not-for-profit (NFP) sector. After beginning his career in public accounting at a prominent regional public accounting firm, Dave worked as the Assistant Executive Director for Subsidiary Operations for the Michigan State Medical Society and as the Director of Finance of the State Bar of Michigan. After spending about a dozen years with these NFPs, he returned to public accounting in 2003.
Dave enjoys working with clients, not only to provide quality services, but also to look for continuous improvement opportunities in client operations. As he has spent a significant part of his career in the NFP sector, he knows what it’s like to be on the other side of an audit and can uniquely relate to clients’ needs and concerns. Additionally, Dave serves on the CSH Employee Benefit Plan Audit (EBPA) Committee, contributing to the successful professional development of the firm resources focused on serving EBPA clients.
