Throughout his career, Mat has worked with a diverse group of companies ranging from small to large, and from privately held to publicly held, primarily in the construction, real estate, manufacturing, and professional service industries.
His experience includes developing tax planning strategies for partnerships, LLCs, corporations, S corporations, and individuals to minimize their overall tax burdens and tax risk. Mat’s background includes a focus on real estate developers of commercial and large multi-family residential rental properties, in addition to general and subcontractors in the construction industry.
Mat has over 17 years of experience in public accounting, and two years within private industry. Prior to joining Clark Schaefer Hackett, Mat served eight years with a Big Four accounting firm, five years with a regional firm, and two years with a private company leading the tax function.
